PMM Files #185 – Launching With an FAQ, Picking a Clear Lane, and Zero to Aha in 15 Seconds

Read Time: 3.7 minutes

Thanks for reading PMM Files. A newsletter where we share five cool product marketing examples we found last week.

Let's get to it...

Example #1 – Launching With an FAQ

Check out this LinkedIn post from Adam Robinson, founder of Retention.com, RB2B, and now, MoltSets.

What immediately catches my attention is the structure. Instead of a typical need > solution > benefit approach, he structures his post as an FAQ.

It's easy to skim and hits on the key points, like how it works and how it's different. And like most of his content, Adam is not afraid to call out competitors directly πŸ‘€

Example #2 – Picking a Clear Lane

You might look at Rally's website and think:

"What? You only work in WhatsApp? Doesn't that limit your growth? What about the companies that don't use WhatsApp?"

But I actually love this decision. For one, I'd suspect they know their target customer. They focus on the UK and Europe where many companies use WhatsApp for communicating with employees. The TAM within that market is plenty right now.

It also allows them to be crystal clear in their messaging and positioning. People can associate them with being the expense management platform that works inside WhatsApp. How simple is that!

Example #3 – From Zero to Aha in 15 Seconds

What is AI-powered QA testing? How does it work?

I'm sure Bugster's website visitors have that question a lot, so they added this simple product animation that shows you a real example in action.

  • On the left: the prompt and how the agent processes it.
  • On the right: what happens live in the app.

In about 15 seconds you get to the aha! moment.

Example #4 – Creating a Public Comparison Tool

This is an interesting use of AI in creating comparison pages.

Valley has dedicated blog posts comparing their outbound sales product to each competitor, and it appears like they summarize all that data into this one page. It acts like a comparison tool for buyers.

Users can select an alternative and quickly compare:

  • How they stack up across every use case
  • How they compare on price
  • Other general positioning points
  • Tons of source links pointing to proof on both company websites

I could see a lot of reps going straight to this and skipping battlecards entirely... and I don't know how I feel about that πŸ€”

Example #5 – Visually Stunning and Surprisingly Clear

When I first saw this new site from Tofu, I instantly thought, "Here we go. Another ai-generated site that is visually stunning but totally useless."

But after a closer look, it actually changed my mind.

It's a simple site when you break it down. And is describes how the product works incredibly well.

Scroll down the page and their cute mascot bounces through their product in 5 simple steps.
